Repurposed Mahogany Headboard

This beautiful mahogany headboard was found at a local thrift store.  With a little work I was able to turn this into a one-of-a-kind coat rack.  It was a surprise to find this beautiful wood underneath coats of old lacquer and dirt.  The posts were painted using chalk paint, and the wood was stained to highlight the deep colors in the grain.  Finally, “Welcome” was stenciled to make it ready for the entryway.
