This was a fun project using old barn wood siding.  It was my first time using anything with barn wood, and provides a little bit of a design challenge.  Using the material, one needs to keep in mind that each saw cut removes the weathered texture and reveals a new wood look.  Consequently, one needs to be able to hide new cuts when assembling the shelf.  Overall, I am fairly pleased with the results!
